A significant portion of the solid waste generated in the U.S. is organic material like yard trimmings and food scraps that can be recycled through small-scale composting. The Cornell Waste Management Institute has launched a new website.

The site provides information for both composters and educators seeking to promote home composting. Resources include a guide for developing Master Composter programs, information relevant to composting at schools, as well as fact sheets, videos and information on home compost demo sites in New York State.
